Students should be finishing up their Introduction to Word training in Applied Educational Systems. They should have completed two quizzes within the program as well as an electronic worksheet. They also should have submitted through Schoology, four Word documents to be graded. There will be a summative test on what they have learned so far in Word this Friday, 2/1/18. Students will be given a few study guides tomorrow in class.
Students were also given a new assignment today to create from a blank Word document a resume. The assignment and related rubric can be found in their Microsoft Word folder. First drafts are due Friday, 2/1/18. Students were introduced to another new training tool for Word, TestOut. Within Testout, they are expected to complete the following sections to begin with. They can and should work on this at home. Target completion date for these sections is Feb. 16th. I will be checking on their progress and will adjust the target completion date based on where the class is as a whole as we still are working on InVenture at the same time. Students have been invited to take advantage of Georgia Tech feedback on their Inventure pitch. In order to do so, they must must create a you tube of their video and send me the link as well as a project title and a 200 character project description. This is due Friday, 1/12. Students were asked to read an article about the benefits of the MOS certification and we watched two videos that further emphasized the importance of this certification.
Georgia Tech is also offering feedback to any students that want to submit their pitch videos to them for review. Students will need to upload their videos to You Tube and provide me with a link as well as a 200 character description of their project and a project title by Friday, 1/12. Details of the assignment are in Schoology in their InVenture folder. Students were also reminded that their pitch videos were due to be uploaded to peergrade on Thursday, 1/11.
