Students continued to work on their budgets in Excel and they were shown how to record all of their transactions in a register. They were to also make sure their registers reconciled with their budget and to their "wallets." Students were told the unit test will be likely next. Wed.

Students finished balancing their budgets in Excel and we had a lesson on tracking all of their expenses in a register in Excel.
Students began transferring their draft of the budgets from paper into Excel. They are also learning how to make sure their budget balances.
Students began drafting their inital budgets applying the knowledge they acquired last week on income and expenses.
We continued our discussion on expenses. Students were given examples of fixed versus variable expenses. We reviewed insurance and how to manage risk, buying versus leasing a car, needs versus wants, and how prices are set and how coupons work. We also looked generally at various investment options such as stocks, bonds, real estate and savings accounts. We also played a Kahoot today to assess the overall student's understanding of the topic and clearing, they are interested in the material as they did very well recalling what was discussed.
We continued our discussion of income and expenses today as well as talked about various investment options available.
We began our review of the Biz Bucks Game today. Students learned about how they can earn income in the game and we had discussions about gross versus net pay, taxes, budgeting, and fixed versus variable expenses.
Students took a learning style assessment today, completed an interest survey and played a Kahoot on Financial Literacy. I also showed them Microsoft Excel and how to access it.
Students checked their emails for messages from me regarding work I graded. We also played a Kahoot to introduce Financial Literacy. We will do again since so many students were absent due to the Solar Eclipse.
Students had an organizational culture article to read, dicuss with a partner and then submit an assignment related to the article.
