Students have received their progress reports. Students who have received progress reports that indicate in the comments that students should "participate in tutoring" are encouraged to come to tutoring in the mornings in my classroom. Students should let me know they plan to attend so I can be sure to look for them. (Also, in case for some reason tutoring is canceled.)
Hours of tutoring: Mon. -Wed., and Fri. 8 am - 8:50 am Students arriving for tutoring should be in the cafeteria by 7:55 am. I pick up students from the cafeteria by 8 am each day I have tutoring. This is also the time for students to make up any missed work, missed tests, or re-tests.

The students have been learning about taxes, saving and investing, compound interest (The Rule of 72) and stocks and bonds.
The latest assignment was to identify some of their favorite companies, and check to see if the companies were public and traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Students should complete Stock Comparison Worksheets 1 & 2 in Schoology if they missed the last fews days before the break. The students did such an amazing job with their BE Tank Presentations. The competition was tough and the race was very close. Our top team then worked together to come up with the final presentation that incorporated all the best parts of everyone's presentations.
The winning team, (Sophie, Daniela, Ashleigh, Emily and Jadyn), then went on a field trip to present their "pitch" to the Smyrna Business Assocation. |
